Time to say goodbye to hummi already !
Well here goes... I had two horses in a paddock and i had to choose one of them, one being a total pig, never doing as I say, not forward only 14.2hh and is a novice at jumping, the other I have only had for 4 days, is well behaved, 15.1hh, nice conformation, etc...
I ended up keeping minky because she is the challenge I need, I know all of the tricks up her sleeve, I know how to control her (mostly) and the main thing is I am attached to my horse! and to be honest I really was not that interested in hummi because it just wasn't meant to be. :( and I cant end this blog now, I'm only just getting fired up!)
But on a better note i am thinking of riding minky through the dam tonight which should be fun.

Hi Katie! Jean here, Tucker's Mom from your Dad's blog. I am so happy to see you writing here.
It must have been hard to decide about Minky and Humbug, but your heart made the right decision for you. When the time comes and Minky can't teach you anything anymore, and you NEED another horse, you will know it.
Love the story of Minky boinging over the log. When my trainer says, "Kick him!!" an I'm riding my Tucker ( a bit of an explosive fellow) I say, "You kick him! I won't. Want to get on?" Usually they don't. *G*
Don't think talking back to a Pony Club trainer is a good idea, though. Still, don't ever do anything you think might be dangerous or foolish, even if a trainer tells you to.
I have a blog myself:

It's fun writing about the horses every day. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!!
Good for you for keeping Minky, Katie, I bet she'll end up teaching you a lot!
That picture of Toothy is amazing, he really does look like a hobbit (or something).

Hey Katie,
I've read your Dad's blog for a while now, and just came to check yours out. I wanted to let you know I think choosing Minky was a GREAT move. You will learn more than you can imagine on a horse that gives you trouble compared to a push button one.
Like the new blog. I look forward to hearing more about your adventures with Minky.
I thought the toohey footy was hysterical! :)
Pretty mature of you to decide that what you really needed was to keep Minky and keep learning on her, instead of just leaping onto the "easier" horse.
Goodonya!
