Yesterdays riding lesson was a little interesting, so there I am on Minky trotting down the arena and all of a sudden Minky jumps to a halt!
Well after she stops she puts on a wonderful display of backing up, spooking and pig rooting...PIG ROOTING!
After that she got some stern words (and kicks) from me.
She behaved her self after a while which is all very good because her old mum came to see how she was going, and saw Minky's display! however Minky's mum was ok with how Minky was going, she said that it would have been the worst she will ever get, and really she wasn't even being that naughty (she has a point because the last time I got on Nobby no nuts, he bucked me, I got off and then he reared up and galloped off back home!) so Minky surely can't be any worse than what I have already experienced.
Anyhow, I'm off school to day because I'm sick :(
I was feeling fine yesterday, but now i feel like a bag of horse poo!
Oh well...leaves me more time to improve my blog :)

Awesome because you rode Minky through her little tantrum. What a naughty girl.
My Tucker will stop sometimes and throw a tantrum, but it's usually because something is bothering him. After I treated him for ulcers he was almost perfect. Then he had sore hocks and we had some issues. Sometimes horses misbehave because of physical problems.
So sorry you are sick. Feel better soon and rest up in the meantime.
Well Minky is like that, she was playing up on me one day, infact the day before she was due for the dentist and after her teeth were fixed she was as good as gold.
Minky always has something up her sleeves when we go riding... she just put an extra effort in last night.
I think it was because her old mum was watching her.
Those ulcers wouldn't have been nice for tucker ...poor little guy :(
Uhm, Katie, Tucker is not a "little guy." He is a Bazz clone. 16.3+ hands of very big Thoroughbred.
However, his emotional level is a "little guy" in a lot of ways. He is very sensitive to any kind of physical discomfort. It does make me more honest as a rider because I can pretty quickly catch on if something is bothering him.
How are you feeling? Better, I hope.
good point...tucker is not a little guy, but its good to have a horse that will tell you if something is wrong just so long as he goes the right way about it.
i feel much better now, thankyou for asking.
Glad to hear you're feeling better - and very glad to hear you rode Minky out of her tantrum. It's always best to leave the horse with the distinct understanding that YOU are the one in charge.
thanks for asking muzzy...i will just call you muzzy because i dont think i can say the other one.
(dad dosn't like me saying things like that..because i am a lady! although my brother can get away with it and make some very expilcit comments about our cat! you would know what im talking about from dads blog)
I thought that was a good post! When I read the headline, "Minky has been speaking to Bass" I was expecting to read something about the two of them at a riding lesson or something. Then I read it, and it was how she "acted" like Bazz!
Love it! Way to sucker a Bazz fan in! LOL.
LOL! thanks Bobbie, i dont know what minky was up to... but its exactly what bazz dose to anyone when they try to ride him!
OK, please enlighten me here in the UK --- WHAT is "pig rooting"?
well, pig rooting is where your horse is being very naughty, and it kicks up one of its back legs, almost a semi buck however its is no were near as bad as a buck, its still very naughty.
